Donnie Pigg

Donnie Avery Pigg, age 70, of Jackson County, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, October 22, 2016, at the Clark Regional Medical Center. Donnie was husband to Sandra Pigg, and father to Lola Kay Pigg and Clara Avery Pigg (Eli) Powell. Also surviving him are two grandchildren; Dalton (Sarah) Robinson, and Houston Arnold, one great granddaughter, Abigail Robinson and a sister, Erma (Jim) Miller, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents William Hearld Pigg and Mary (Jackson) Pigg, siblings; Zullia May Pigg, J. Lee Arley Pigg, Travie Pigg, Starlion W. Pigg, Bernice Chasteen, Sylvania Robinson, and Jessie Pigg. Donnie was a painter by trade, working 23 yrs for the Denham & Blythe Construction Company in addition to other employment in the construction industry. He enjoyed a great number of hobbies and activities, some he was most fond of included: hunting, fishing, archery, horses and being a faithful member of the NRA. Donnie influenced many young lives with his love of archery, and was affectionately and gratefully loved by anyone having the opportunity to know him. He intended to be a friend to all and did a fine job of it. His devout friendship was woven with good hearted pranks and an appetite for living life to the fullest. It can be said; to know him was to love him. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 26th, at 1 PM, at Lakes Funeral Home. With Bro. Travis Jackson officiating. Visitation will be October 25th, from 6 to 9. Burial will be in the VanWinkle Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Condolences may be left at www.lakesfuneralhome.com.
