Mary Ann Hammond Mathews, age 80, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home. She was born at Owensboro, Kentucky on December 18, 1935 the daughter of Curtis R. and Martha A. Stanton Hammond. She was a homemaker and also worked in the marketing field. She enjoyed many forms of art, including, needle point, sewing, and painting. She liked working in the garden and was a member of the Water Garden Society. Mary is survived by one son, Curt Klimpke and wife Lois, daughters, Catherine Lawrence and husband Robert and Jennifer W. Mathews, two grandchildren, Michele and Russell and two great grandchildren, Asher and Karsyn. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
