Ed Newton Pemberton

Ed Pemberton, age 79, La Cygne, Kansas passed Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was born at Ash Flat, Arkansas on September 16, 1936 the son of Jasper and Bonnie Matney Pemberton. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and worked for several years at General Motors on the assembly line. He married Mary Jane Pittsenbarger on October 2, 1976. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Benjamin. He is survived by his wife, Mary, three sons: Danny Pemberton, and Richard and Robert Stitt, two daughters, Wendy Stitt and Brenda Benjamin, five grandchildren: Eric Pemberton, Katie Pemberton, Sarah Banks, Rachel Benjamin and Emma Benjamin, and three great grandchildren: Kaden Ohlert, and Brody and Everly Pemberton. Memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until service time at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association. On line condolences for the family can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
