David Richard Helmert

David Richard Helmert, age 89, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Prescott Country View. He was born on July 5, 1926 at Altus, Arkansas the son of Hordel and Ora Annison Helmert. He worked as a truck driver for List and Clark prior to retirement. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He married Dawn Helmert who preceded him in death on September 23, 2013. He was also preceded in death by a step daughter, Linda Senkevech, two brothers and a sister. Dave was a member of the V.F.W., Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge, Mirza Shrine and Hospital Dad's. He is survived by a step son Jimmey Murr, four step daughters: Karen Morris, Teri Smith, Sandra Reynolds and Jenny Pearce, numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren. Memorial graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 12, 216 at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Mirza Hospital Dads.
