Amber Dennis

Amber Michelle Dennis, 37, of Colby, KS, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO. She was born April 12, 1978 to Mike Meis and Patty Plantz Meis Drake in Colby, KS. She graduated from Colby High School in 1997 and Colby Community College in 2003. She married Daniel Dennis of Greensburg, KS on May 23, 1998 at the Wesleyan Church in Colby. She worked at Citizens Medical Center as a Registered Nurse and at Colby Community College as a nursing instructor. She enjoyed many things including singing karaoke, decorating, riding on the motorcycle with Daniel and most of all going to the kid’s games and spending time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley Plantz, Gilbert and Theresa Meis and cousin, Jake Helus. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Dennis; children, Alexsis 17, Ashtyn 12 and Drew 9; parents, Mike Meis and Patty (Jim) Drake; father and mother in-law, Don and Debra Dennis; grandfather, Gerald Plantz; brother, Steve (Heather) Meis; sister in-law, Diana (Taylor) Gordon; nieces, Molly Meis, Anna and Amelia Gordon; nephews, Marcus Meis and Preston Gordon; aunts and uncles, Peggy and Kevin Helus and Pam and Dale Edwards and numerous cousins. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 6:00pm on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, KS. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Colby, KS.
