Steven "Steve" Britt

Steven “Steve” Britt, 58 of Solomon passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Salina Regional Hospital. He was born August 2, 1957 in Salina, the son of Duane and Evelyn (Able) Britt. He attended the Abilene and Solomon school districts and graduated from Solomon in 1976. Steve was a former police officer for Abilene, Solomon and McPherson, the former sheriff and deputy sheriff in Dickinson County and was employed by Solomon Corporation, Abilene Machine and most recently, by Ka-Comm Inc. He served on the Solomon City Council for 8 years, Mayor of Solomon for 8 years, instructor and area coordinator of Kansas Hunters Education for 30 plus years, member of the Solomon Fire Department for 23 years, 911 advisory board for 15 plus years and president and vice president of the Solomon High School Alumni Association for 10 years. His hobbies included ATV’s, hunting, fishing, firearms collecting, gardening and yard work. Steve is survived by his loving wife Tana Bosworth; two sons, Travis Britt and wife Lisa, Troy Britt and wife Chelcie. Parents; Duane and Evelyn Britt. Two brothers; Gary Britt and Dan Britt and Carolyn. Step-daughter, Amber. Grandson; Owen Ray. Step-granddaughter; Alisha. Niece Sara and nephews Matt and Brian Britt and Taylor. Funeral Services for Steve will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Emmanuel Church in Abilene with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, south of Solomon. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon. The family suggests memorials be given to the Solomon Fire Department. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, PO Box 308 Solomon, Kansas 67480.
