Vicky Jo Huntley Estherville, Iowa Obituary

Vicky Jo Huntley

Vicky Jo (Reinhardt) Huntley, 64, of Dolliver Iowa, spread her wings Friday, June 17, 2016. She leaves behind memories as a beloved wife of nearly 49 years to Frank, loving mother to Amy (Dean) Johnson, Aaron (Tara) Huntley, Amanda Huntley (Cornelius), Ashley (Chris) Hoffman, precious daughter to Kenneth & Doris Reinhardt, beautiful sister to Kaylynn (Gene) Wilson, Marilyn Moore, Willie (Carole) Reinhardt, Kathy (Rick) Johnson, Caryle (Doug) Hansen, and Melissa (Dan) Lutat, dedicated grandmother to 15, great grandmother to 5, aunt and devoted friend to so many.

Vicky was born in Estherville on August 29, 1951, attended school in Dolliver and married the love of her life, Frank Huntley, September16, 1967. Together they raised dairy cattle, farmed and grew their family on the Huntley homestead outside Dolliver. She excelled as the most caring and giving person, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. When not busy with family, she looked forward to Wednesdays and Saturdays working at the Ceylon Legends Bar. She enjoyed socializing with customers and spending time with many long-time friends, such as Bill and Helen Cordt.

Were Vicky to pen her own announcement, she would start by noting that she appreciated what each of us brought to her life. Hers was the simple beauty of the human heart and a lesson in unconditional love and kindness. As her struggle with cancer progressed, so did her grace and fighting spirit. When asked what her pain level was, she might say, “8”; when asked what her quality of life was, she was quick to say, “10 – I’m still here with my family.” Her smiles, hugs, kisses and “I love you(s)” reminded those around her that family was truly important. Always on “Vicky time”, she was notoriously late for everything and was certainly in no hurry to leave this life unless it was on her terms and in her own time. She’d want each of us to not be in such a hurry, to say, “I love you” often, and give everyone we touch our best.

“To the love of my life Frank, my precious family and friends, my life was meaningful because of you! Vicky was born in Estherville on August 29, 1951, attended school in Dolliver and married the love of her life, Frank Huntley, September16, 1967. Were Vicky to pen her own announcement, she would start by noting that she appreciated what each of us brought to her life. When asked what her pain level was, she might say, “8”; when asked what her quality of life was, she was quick to say, “10 – I’m still here with my family.” Her smiles, hugs, kisses and “I love you(s)” reminded those around her that family was truly important. “To the love of my life Frank, my precious family and friends, my life was meaningful because of you! Knowing and loving each of you was the success story of my life. I hope my place in yours made you smile, too, and that you enjoyed the trips we took together. I never wanted to miss out on being with you!” Love Vicky
