Robert "Bob" Hoffman Sr.

Robert Richard Hoffman, the son of John and Mardelle Hoffman Jr. was born January 16, 1943, in Waterloo, Iowa. Robert passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016, at his home in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 73 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Bob was the youngest of four children. He received his education in the Waterloo, Iowa Schools. Bob served in the United States Navy in San Francisco, California.

On December 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to his best friend Sandy Gathman. Throughout his life Bob was employed as a salesman selling mainly farm machinery and cars. Bob owned Fairmont Lawn and Sports in Fairmont, MN. He later worked at Okoboji Motor Company in Spirit Lake where he was employed until his death. He can best be remembered as the deal making man. Anyone who came into his office as a customer left as a friend.

Bob was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church. For hobbies, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and riding Harleys.

Left to cherish Bob's memory are his wife, Sandy; children, Robert (Jessica) Hoffman, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; Theresa Hoffman-Rivera (Hugo) of Muscatine, Iowa; Bradley (Cyndi) Johnson of Fairmont, Minnesota; Jennifer (Mark) Jensen of Everly, Iowa; and the blessing of many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Mardelle Akin and sister Meredythe Munson of Golden City, Missouri.

Preceding Bob in death are his father; sister Karen Potter and brother John (Jack) Hoffman.
