Graveside services will be held Saturday August 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. After the graveside services there will be a memorial gathering and coffee at the First Methodist Church in Estherville from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Eloise Ruth Burt Larsen Heidecker 102, daughter of Roy Alva and Olive Ruth Irwin Burt, was born June 20, 1914 in the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines Iowa and lived nearly all of her life in Estherville. She departed her life Saturday, August 13, 2016.

Eloise received her education in Estherville, Iowa, and Estherville Junior College. On April 16, 1932, she married Stanley Louis Larsen in Estherville. They were married fifty-two years until Stan’s death in 1985. They had two children, Jan Edwin and Ruth Lynne. On July 27, 1989 she married Francis Ruben Heidecker. They lived in Estherville until 2006 when they moved to Minneapolis.

Eloise has been a life long member of the United Methodist Church, a fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and Past Worthy Matrons. She worked as the Methodist Church Secretary following the death of her son Jan, 16 years of age, in 1951. For twenty-five years she served as a secretary for Daniel D. Sanderson, attorney and later was associated with Sanderson, Ridout & Martens Law Firm. Eloise was very active in school and community affairs. She enjoyed summers spent on Spirit Lake and enjoyed hiking, swimming, camping and traveling with friends and family.

She is survived by her Daughter Ruth Lynne Larsen and Linda, her Granddaughter Andrea Lynne
​ Brix​ Chisholm and Colin, her Great Grandson Colin,her Grandson Eric Eugene Brix and Janet, and her Lov​ing ​Caretaker, Peggy Sullivan.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Edwin Roy Burt, son Jan Edwin Larsen, grandson Peter Louis Brix, her husband Stanley Larsen and her husband Francis (Dutch) Heidecker.

Andrea has taken such loving care of Mother for several years. Mother has wanted for nothing and been so blessed to be in Andrea’s care, and Andrea was holding her hand when she died. Mother has been a Gift and a Blessing to her family and friends, she has taken such good care of those in her life and has loved deeply and is loved deeply in return. Her love and her spirit will always be with us and we miss her earthly presence tremendously.
