Gerard Francis Hayden

Gerard Francis "Jerry" Hayden, 67, of Florence, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Kentucky. He was born on January 3, 1949 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of William Partick, Sr. and Veronia (Carroll) Hayden. After graduating in 1966 from Ridgefield Park High School in New Jersey, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970. He moved to Indiana in the 1990's and lived in Evansville, Indiana when he married his wife. They moved to Florence, Indiana in 2000. He retired in 2011 as a floor supervisor for the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, where he taught dealers the game of Craps. He enjoyed gambling, traveling, mowing and taking care of his property, fishing, watching television and his four cats. He was loved and memorable. He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Ginger C. Adair, to whom he married on September 14, 1999 in Sevierville, Tennessee; one step-son, Jeremy Carroll of Evansville, Indiana; three brothers: William P. Hayden and his wife, Lorrie, of Milford, Pennsylvania, Robert E. Hayden and his wife, Paula of Hammonton, New Jersey, and Richard T. Hayden and his wife, Denise, of Alexandria, Virginia; three sisters: Mary Ann Hayden of Matthews, North Carolina, Susan C. Hayden of Barnegat, New Jersey, and Joan E. Luna and her husband, Frank, of Waretown, New Jersey; and four grandchildren: Chrys, Raistlin and Keira Carroll, and Remi Kutzer, all of Evansville. Reverend Christopher Craig will conduct The Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, Indiana, with interment to follow in Vevay Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2016 and from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the church. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Switzerland County Animal Shelter. Contribution envelopes are available at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
