Patricia Lengerich

Patricia L. (Faurote) Charvat Lengerich, 74 of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born in Decatur, IN, the daughter of the late Leo and Martha (Christen) Faurote. On April 20, 2013, she married Fred A. Lengerich. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was in its Rosary Society and on a team for Christ Renews His Parish. She was a lay apostle of Christ the Returning King and was involved in various groups at St. Mary’s. She was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen. Pat was a 1960 graduate of Decatur Catholic and obtained her Associates Degree in Clerical. She was an Executive Assistant for Martin’s Feed Mill in New Paris, Starcraft in Topeka, Nishikawa in Fort Wayne and her last position was with Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur. She enjoyed traveling with her loving husband and spending time with her many grandkids. She loved watching I.U. basketball during the Bobby Knight era. Survivors include her husband Fred A. Lengerich of Monroe; five daugthers, Jennifer Charvat of Elkart, Emily Bischof of Milford, Chris Charvat of Fort Wayne, Marta Passauer of Sugar Hill, GA and Sarah (Lawrence) Patterson of Phoenix, AZ; three step-sons Mark (Dawn) Lengerich of Ft Wayne, Sam (Natalie) Lengerich of Monroe and Luke (Nicole) Lengerich of Goshen; two step-daughters Laura A. (Randy) Lewis of Decatur and Amy M. (Phil) McDonald of Berne; a brother, William (Judy) Faurote of Decatur; two sisters, Kaki Barker and Marta (Al) Fullenkamp both of Decatur; a brother-in-law, Jeff Eady; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Eady. Visitation will be on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:15 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with calling prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Father Bob J. Lengerich will be officiating. An Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Building on our Heritage and Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.
