Michele “Shelly” Lee Elliott, 40, Decatur, Indiana passed away on August 3, 2016 at the Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends, due to a long battle with diabetes. Michele was born on October 8, 1975 to Richard E. and Terri L. (Harter) Jones. She was born and raised on the family farm outside of Venedocia, Ohio. On this farm is where many of her adventurous childhood memories were formed. Michele was a student of Lincolnview High School and Vantage Vocational Career Center of Van Wert, OH. On February 21, 2003, Michele married her husband Douglas C. Elliott She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Michele is survived by her husband, Douglas C. Elliott of Decatur, IN; two sons, Christian L. (Amanda) Jones of Decatur, IN and Austin M. (Shania) Casarez of Pleasant Mills, IN; one daughter , Paige R. Elliott of Decatur, IN; two stepsons, Drew Elliott of WV and Conner Townsend of Middle Point, OH; her mother Terri L. Jones of Venedocia, OH; one sister, Christine M. (Nathan) Shaffer of Decatur, IN, one brother, Brian E. Jones of Alexandria, VA; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Connie Riepenhoff of Lima, OH; three grandchildren, Noah and Sophia Jones and Zia Crisp. Her nieces, Alexandra J. and Baily R. Reichert; in addition, her aunts, uncles and cousins. Michele was preceded in death by her father, Richard E. Jones, her paternal grandparents, David W. and Margaret H. Jones; and maternal grandfather, Lemoyne D. Harter. Memorial Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with calling 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Crandall. Memorials may be made to the A.C.C.F. Diabetes Fund
