Marjorie E. (Kintz) Schultz, 95, Of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday June 17, 2016 at Adams Woodcrest. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Adams County, IN, to the late John A. and Mary A. (Bernard) Kintz. On May 11, 1946, she married Joseph H. Schultz and after 56 years together he preceded her in death on August 9, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where served as a lector and an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Women of St. Mary, Harvest House, and volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In 1970, Marjorie served as the Clerk of Adams County for 2 consecutive terms. Her and her late husband, Joe cared for the roses at St. Mary’s and the Riverside Center. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Elks and the American Legion Post 43 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Stephen (Peggy) Schultz of Wauwatosa, WI; 5 daughters, Barbara McNary of Decatur; Joan (Steve) Wolf of Cincinnati, OH; Christine (Pierre) Touge of France, Kathleen (Robert) Muller of Westmont, IL, and Rosemary (Jim) Friedt of Decatur; 2 sisters, Isabelle (Phillip) Gamble of Edmunds, WA and Patricia (Larry) Daniels of Decatur; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John McNary; a grandson, Nicholas Muller; 3 brothers, Daniel, William, and John Kintz; 5 sisters, Delores Reed, Mary Alice Whitright, Berniece Hackman, Helen Ruggles, and Ruth Bahler. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Officiating will be Father Bob J. Lengerich and burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Evergreen Assisted Living.
