Gloria Resendez

Gloria Resendez, 73, of Ft. Wayne, IN, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Gloria was born on May 9, 1943 in Monterrey, Mexico to the late Carlos Garcia and Maria (Oliva) Garcia Mejia. On December 29, 1965, Gloria married Jose Resendez. Gloria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Wayne. She worked for Zollners for 30 years as an Inspector. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jose Resendez of Ft. Wayne, four sons, Juan Carlos Resendez of McAllen, TX, Jose E. Resendez of Ft. Wayne, Arturo J. (Joselyn) Resendez of Indianapolis and Raul R. Resendez of Ft. Wayne; a daughter, Norma Esmeralda (Steven) Elliston of Lake Worth, FL; a brother, Jose Garcia of Ft. Wayne; three sisters, Enriqueta Gonzalez of Monterrey, Mexico, Anita “Cha Cha” (James) Prosise of Minooka, IL and Guadalupe Heranadez of Monterrey, Mexico and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Garcia and 4 nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons – Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Ft. Wayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 27th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave, Ft. Wayne, with calling 1 hour prior from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Father Evaristo Oliveras will be officiating and burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
