Charles A. “Chuck” Grimm, 54, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born on June 29, 1962 in Portland, Indiana, the son of the late Lewis H. and Rose C. (Harpring) Grimm. Charles was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland. He was employed by the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne – South Bend for the last 30 years. He served his last position as principal of St. Therese Catholic School in Ft. Wayne, where he had been since 1993. In the school year of 2012 – 2013, he received the Administrative Light of Learning Award. He was also honored as a Principal of the Year for the Diocese of FWSB. He is survived by his best friend, Jesse Costello of Decatur, IN; 2 sisters, Carol (Bill) Rathbun of Portland and Marie (John) Roesler of Iowa City, IA; also 3 nieces, 3 nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews and 2 dogs, Zuri and Zya. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd, Ft. Wayne, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 414 W. Madison St., Decatur, with calling 1 hour prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Officiating will be Father Lawrence Tetah and burial will take place in the Center Cemetery in Jay County at 1:30 p.m. Preferred memorials may be made to the St. Therese Catholic School.
