David Carvell, 62, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the Marian Cliff Manor at St. Mary, Missouri. David Carvell was born on March 19, 1954, in Charleston, WV, to John Carvell and Jo Ann (Vance) Carvell. He served in the Military Police in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam for five and half years. David loved baseball especially the Cardinals. Mr. Carvell was very religious. He married Beverly Poore on September 18, 1991, in Cambria, Illinois, and she survives of Carbondale. Other survivors include his father and step mother John and Sylvia Carvell of Murphysboro; two sons Ted David Carvell of Hamburg, NJ and James Carvell of Murphysboro; one step son Shawn Burcz and his husband Robert Burcz of Charleston, SC; two sisters, two brothers and their spouses Leslie and Mark Theiss of Lakeside, AZ, Steve and Karen Carvell of Mesa, AZ, Mark and Mary Carvell of Carbondale, and Joan and Mike Letwenko of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Robert Carvell and his mother. Gravesite services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Murdale Gardens of Memory with Rev. Shaker Samuel officiating. Military Services will be conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127 at the cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at cemetery.
