John Sileven

John Francis Sileven, 73, of Pittsburg, passed away at 11:35 p.m., in Herrin Hospital. John was born, March 13, 1943 the son of Joseph Francis and Wilma May (Hutton) Sileven. He married Sondra June Hall on June 14, 1970 in West Frankfort. John was retired having been a coal miner for 35 years. He was employed by Old Ben Coal Company #24 and #25 mines. He also worked at the Eddy Potash Coal Mine in Carlsbad, New Mexico. John enjoyed fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife, Sondra June Sileven of Pittsburg, four children, Russell (Linda) Hall of Thompsonville, Michael Hall of Benton, Jon Franklin (Emily) Sileven of Clarksville, TN and De’Etta (Donnie) Eroh of Thompsonville; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marsha (Bill) Davis of Sandwich; sister-in-law, Mitzy Sileven of West Frankfort. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Sileven and a brother, Kevin David Sileven. Services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with his son, Russell Hall officiating. Inurnment will follow in County Line Cemetery near Thompsonville. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
