Candy Lea Peck passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, on Saturday August 13, 2016, at her home in Midvale, Utah. She was born on May 21, 1956 to Ross and Berdina Peck in Hailey, Idaho. Candy will be missed by many. She leaves a legacy of service and love. In her own quiet, simple ways, she improved the lives of all that knew her. She attended school in Carey, graduating from Carey High School in 1974 as valedictorian. That summer she married Rick Mecham in the Idaho Falls temple, and bore three sons, Ben, Brad and Clayton. They were later divorced. Candy graduated from Idaho State Tech in computer programming and taught there for a time. She was extremely intelligent and loved solving problems. She lived in Boise while working for the State of Idaho and currently was employed by STG, and she contracted for projects with the LDS church and Hill Air Force Base. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony and love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She gained strength from her knowledge of eternal families as she buried precious loved ones. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren. With Katie’s birth, she was finally able to buy those frilly dresses. Days before her death, she returned from West Virginia where she was able to meet her newest grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents Ross and Berdina, her brother Scott and sister-in-law Jan, and niece Jodi. She is survived by her three sons, Ben and Kari Mecham, their children Parker, Bryan and Jackson of Virginia; Brad and Marie Mecham, their children Wyatt and Katie and Clayton Mecham, all of Carey. She is also survived by her brother Robb and sister-in-law Kathi, of Carey, as well as her aunt Dolores Parke, and many precious nieces, nephews and cousins.
