Charles Walls

Charles A. Walls, 75, of Cumming passed away Saturday October 15, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born May 19, 1941 to the late Claude and Effie Walls, he was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Mr. Walls attended Young Harris College and transferred to the University of Georgia where he earned a degree in Poultry Science. Charles worked a number of years in the poultry industry and for 25 years he owned and operated Silver City Industrial Service. He then taught at Lanier Technical College and currently served as the Facilities Director of the Forsyth and Dawson Campuses. He was a member of Matt Lodge #694 F & AM and was a member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was a deeply devoted husband, father and especially devoted to his grandchildren. Charles was also preceded in death by his brothers, Glyndon Walls, Luke Walls, Edmond “Doodle” Walls and William Harley Walls. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Janice Westray Walls, Cumming; sons and daughters in law, Matthew Walls, Cumming, Mark and Lisa Walls, Butler, GA, Myles and Jennifer Walls, Cumming; grandchildren, Chandler, Mary Margaret, Luke, Brooke, Cassie and Aaron, Chasity, Courtney, Hailee Kate, Carlee, Hollee; brothers and sister in law, Grady and Evelyn Walls, Gainesville, Rupert Walls, Cumming; sisters and brother in law, Evelyn Pylant, Marietta, Pat and Norman Miller, Cumming; sisters in law, Betty Walls, Cumming, Betty Wolfe, Dacula; brother in law and sister in law, Larry and Judy Westray, Cumming; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Concord Baptist Church. Dr. Scott Gilbert, Rev. Rubin Smith and Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 6905 Concord Road, Cumming, GA 30028. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
