Winnie Kathleen Nicholson, 85 of Clarkesville, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from natural causes. Born in Rabun County, Georgia on January 26, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Marvin W. and Winnie McEntire Martin. Kathleen was passionate about her plants and flowers. From Spring to Fall you could drive by her home and see her sitting on the porch giving love and affection to her plants, as well as her grandkids and family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ray Nicholson; son-in-law, Robert L. Mathes, Jr.; brothers, Marvin W. Martin, Jr., Daniel “Dan” Martin, Vernon “Buddy” Martin; sisters, Hilda Gail Lovell, Betty Jo Benefield and Dorothy Faye Ayers. Survivors include her children Patricia N. and Michael Griffin of Atlanta, Kathy N. and Mike Davis of Cornelia, David Ray and Lisa Nicholson of Cornelia; grandchildren, Blake & Christina Barron, Kelly & Trina Barron, Chuck & Stacy Allen, Brandy Allen & Tina Register, Corey Lindsey, Nathan, Seth, and Allie Nicholson, Jason &Jennifer Davis; sisters, Mary Ruth Passmore, Patsy Jean Cash and Mary Lou Martin-Demore; 12 great-grand children; and several nieces and nephews. Visitations services are scheduled from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Private interment will follow @ Hills Crossing Baptist Church cemetery.
