Sharron Black

Sharron Geniece Black, 68, of San Mateo, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Andalusia, Alabama and had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 55 years coming from Jacksonville, Florida. She had worked as an executive secretary for Gullett Title Co. and was a member of Westside Church of Christ. Geniece was a member of the Women’s Club of San Mateo and actively involved with Hastings Youth Academy. She also enjoyed supporting her husband’s fishing tournaments. She was happiest when she was helping others. Geniece was a blessing to many. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne Black, son, Derek Black and daughter, Dana Black all of San Mateo, siblings, Thad Hart of Palatka, Dwight Hart of Maggie Valley, NC, Marty Hart and Jami Hart of St. Petersburg and Michelle Stone of Ocala, grandchildren, Ashlee Hicks, T.W. Garten, Kelcey Baggett, Kayla Robinson, Jake Baggett and Austin Black as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Murray Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of services. Flowers are gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be sent to Hastings Youth Academy, 765 E.
