James Fettler

James Todd Fettler, 71, of Palatka, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a short illness. A native of Lodi, Ohio, he had resided in Putnam County (Johnson Community and then in Palatka) for the past 60 years coming from Ohio. James worked as a machine operator in tissue converting at Georgia Pacific for 26 years. He was also a member of New Beginning Baptist Fellowship in Palatka. James loved to fish and spend time with his family and every morning could be found enjoying breakfast with friends at Burger King. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Roberta Fettler, his wife Jane Fettler, a brother, Richard Fettler and a sister, Evelyn Orr. James is survived by his daughter, Lorie Monroe and husband Mike of Palatka, a sister, Betsy Reiter and husband Rusty of San Augustine, TX, 2 grandchildren, Katie Fettler and Levi Monroe, 2 great-grandchildren, Tanner and Kadence Milleson and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tabitha Lassiter and husband Eugene and their son, Westin Lassiter all of Palatka. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 26, 2016 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Rick McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00. Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
