In the early morning hours of Monday August 22, 2016, Nick went to be with our Lord and Savior in heaven. Nick will be joining his beloved wife of 47 years, Annie Ruth Davis; as well as his father, John Alexander Davis; and mother, Edna Mae Stephens Davis; siblings and many other dear family and friends. Nick is survived by his dear sister, Emma Jane Graham; nieces, Regina Graham , Mary Jane Wahl and her husband Thomas Wahl; his daughter, Alma Moates and her husband Grover Moates; granddaughter, Teresa Fountain; his great-grandchildren, Kera York, Devin Blackwell; and several other nieces, nephews and cherished family and friends. Nick was a retiree of Monsanto/Solutia Co. where he was a dedicated employee. Nick was a devoted husband to Annie Ruth and cherished every moment of their 47 years. He enjoyed farming their land, fishing trips on the river and with the grandchildren at Wells pond, time with their pup “Rexie”, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, and was loved dearly by his grandchildren and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but there is joy in the knowledge that he lived a full and joyous life. We are all kinder, gentler, humbled and appreciative of life’s simple gifts by having known him. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating.
