Marilyn Mercer-Hammell Obituary

Marilyn Jean Mercer-Hammell, 81, of Milton, Florida, entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Marilyn was born November 11, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas, to Henry and Katherine Nedeau. Marilyn was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4833, the Fleet Reserve Post #210, and the AMVETS Post #1. She was also a member of Bagdad United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Laverne Mercer; and her sister, Shirley A. Palmer. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 18 years, Robert Hammell; two sons, Mark Mercer of Milton, Florida, and Alan Mercer of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Whitaker of Milton, Florida; four stepchildren; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, William Nedeau of Osage City, Kansas; and her most prized possession, her black toy poodle, Bobo. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Funeral Services for Marilyn will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Bagdad United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gary Jones and Pastor Robert Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Holland, Lee Holland, John Manbeck, Jim Glover, Alan Mercer, and Kerry Flores.
