Lewis Perry Obituary

Lewis Edward Perry, Sr., was born in Rome, Georgia, on April 1, 1928, to Elizabeth Mae Nichols Perry and Jefferson Davis Perry, Sr. He was called from this life on Sunday, July 31, 2016. Lewis, also known as Perry, was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Louise Perry; his parents; and eight brothers and sisters (J. D. Perry, William Perry, Thomas Perry, John Perry, Harold Perry, Richard Perry, Margaret Bing and Frances Jones). Lewis served in the United States Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for and retired from American Cyanamid. A dedicated Christian, Lewis was a member of Ferris Hill Baptist Church in Milton, Florida, where he served as deacon; and was also a member of First Baptist Church in Milton, Florida. Lewis is survived by his children, Sharon Perry Giese (Tommy Glenn Giese) and Lewis Edward Perry, Jr. (Dee Roberts Perry); his grandchildren, Angie Shipp-Pennock (Michael Pennock), Stephanie Swain (Matthew Swain) and Shawn Perry (Ayane Perry); and his great-grandchildren, Anna Swain, India Swain, Gavin Pennock, Olivia Perry, and Levi Perry. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the absolute delight of his life. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., prior to the service.
