Buford C. Plant, 98, of Pace, Florida died on Monday, August 29, 2016. He was a WWII veteran and served in the Army Air Corps. He retired as an automotive mechanic from Ellyson Field (Pensacola, Florida). During his life, he raised cattle and farmed; he loved growing vegetables for his family and friends. He served as Church Secretary and Sunday School Superintendent at Pace Assembly of God Church for many years. He was also a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church. He was a God-fearing man. He was married to Eunice E. Whitehead for 59 ½ years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; parents, Burel and Clara Plant; three sisters; and five brothers. He is survived by his three children, Michael (Jenny) Plant, Rebecca (Roy) Griswold, and Rhona (Ron) Johnson; grandchildren, Tamara (John) McBride, Brett (Tonya) Plant, Everett Plant, Jennifer (Chris) Shoupe, Nathaniel (Lori) Johnson, Regina (Lawrence) Renfro, and Pamela Griswold; great-grandchildren, Morgan (Joshua), Jordyn, Miranda, Jaylen, Hutson (Jeanna), Layne, Gracyn, Gavin, Annabelle, Trey, Andrew, Brian and Olivia; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Peyton, Cooper and Walker; one sister, Dorothy Hicks, four brothers, Clayton, Ivan (Renate), Joe (Patsy) and Kenny (Liz) Plant; four sisters-in-law, Charlotte Plant, Christine Plant, Christine (Boe) Roberts and Louise Mastron; special friend, Dot Busbee; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016, at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church (8080 South Airport Road, Milton); with Rev. Donald Leavins, Rev. Glyn Lowery and Rev. Ron Carnley officiating; and Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, directing. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the missions fund at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church (8080 South Airport Road, Milton, Florida 32583).
