Trudie Newsom

Trudie Newsom passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 in Blountstown at the age of 106. She was born in Geneva, Alabama, May 4, 1910, to the late William L. and Mary (Morrell) Dickerson. Trudie was a homemaker and was a member of Blountstown First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, William and Mary Dickerson, she was preceded in death by her daughter, June Glass and a great-grandson, Ren Glass. Survivors include two sons, James Farrel Newsom and his wife, Mary of Grand Ridge and Johnny Michael Newsom and his wife, Elma of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Janice White and her husband, Bob of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Joan Martel and her husband, Troy of Murphy, North Carolina; son-in-law, Freddie Glass of Blountstown; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grand-children. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 5 at Adams Funeral Home. The service will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Head Free Will Baptist Cemetery near Chipley at 3:00 p.m. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
