J. Frank Young, age 80, of Altha passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Dothan, Alabama. J. Frank was born in Altha May 23, 1936 to the late Jessie James Young and Louise (Brock) Young. He was lock gate operator for the Army Corps of Engineers for thirty years. He also proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam and Korean War. J. Frank was past worshipful master of Red Level Masonic Lodge #134 F&AM; was an avid fisherman and gardener; and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Young and two sisters, Janie Young Adkins and Mellie Young Edenfield. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Young of Altha; sons, Larry O’Blenness of Vancouver, Washington, Eugene “Blue” Young, Steve Young, Michael Young, and Jimmy Young, all of Altha; daughters, Lisa Young and Tonya Bulmer, both of Altha; fourteen grandchildren, Frank Eugene “B. J.” Young, Jr., Aaron, Lynn, and Daniel Young, Kacy and Chase Varnum, Cody and Taylor Young, Christopher, David, Shane, Michael Bulmer, Alyssa Brehm, and Ethan Young; seven great-grandchildren; a step-daughter Patricia Ann Goldsberry and family; a step-son, Kenneth Edward Hires and family; and sisters, Sybil Young Cook of Marianna, Connie Hansford, and Gail Hollis, both of Altha and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
