AGE: 51 • Smyrna Sandra, better known as Sandy to family and friends passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was raised in New Castle and was a 1983 graduate of William Penn High School. Sandy had a successful career in Banking, primarily at Citi Bank. Her biggest achievement was her family. Sandy loved taking care of her husband and two sons, ensuring that the family and household were well run. In her spare time, she enjoyed having "fun in the sun" hanging out at the beach or by her cherished pool with those she loved the most. Sandy is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 30 years, Steven Minner; her two sons, Steven Jr. and Christopher (Michelle); father, Rudolph Alvini; two sisters, Ann Marie Ledeker (Marvin) and Natalie Ganc (Jeff); two brothers, Michael Alvini and Francis Alvini (Holly) and other extended family. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Alvini and twin sister, Stephanie Alvini. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH; 12 Winder Rd., New Castle, DE 19720 at 11 AM on Friday, July 29. Friends may call at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME; 212 E. Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804 from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, July 28.
