Delia Truglia, 83, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Delia was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1951.It was there that she met the love of her life and husband of sixty one years Anthony Truglia. Together they raised three wonderful sons and dedicated their lives to family and friends. Delia’s greatest joy was watching her sons and grandchildren play sports. She loved baseball, the New York Yankees and the American Flag. While Delia loved her time working at JC Penny, she also enjoyed volunteering as a teachers aid for her sons and later her grandchildren. Delia hosted many parties for the family and the boys sports teams. There was always an abundance of pasta, pizza frita and the best apple pie. Later in life, Delia and Tony enjoyed spending their winters in Boca Raton, FL. There they enjoyed daily walks on Deefield Beach and spending time with Delia’s family and numerous friends.Delia was a gentle soul, always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. While we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in the memories of our beautiful life spent together as a family.
