Mary “Pat” Patricia (Doherty) Tripp 84 of Ellington beloved wife of the late George M. Tripp passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her friends and family on August 17, 2016. She was born on December 22, 1931 in Mexico ME, daughter of the late Wilfred and Margaret (Kelly) Doherty. Pat was the Bookkeeper for Waterhouse Coal & Fuel in Rumford ME. She also worked at the Journal Inquirer and Reminder Newspaper in CT. Pat was a devoted member of St. Bernard’s Church Vernon, CT. She enjoyed genealogy, loved to collect Angels and unusual Salt and Pepper Shakers. Pat is survived by her children, Daniel Tripp Sr. and his wife Terri of Deerfield, NH. Kelly Ann Avery and her husband Robert of Stafford, Shawn Tripp and his wife Linda of Ellington, Karen Côté of Ellington. She also leaves behind her brother Mike Doherty and two sister-in-laws Sally Turbide of Mexico, ME, and Ann Tripp of Westbrook, ME, as well as nine grandchildren Shannon, Danny Jr., Melissa and her husband Chris, Justin, Aislynn, Amy and her husband David, Robin, Gary Jr., Adrianna, and seven great grandchildren: Hunter, Gabriell, Gage, Amber, Gabriel, Kelly, and Tripp. She also leaves her nephew Kevin Doherty and his wife Darcy. Pat was predeceased by her grandchild Travis Côté. The family would like to give a special Thank you to Mable “May” Manu for her extraordinary care of their Mom. Thank you to all the people at T.O.P.S. for their love and support. Thank you to all the friends and family who kept her in their thoughts and prayers. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 2-5 on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect st, Rockville, A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Church, Rockville (Please meet at Church). Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center, 100 Haynes St, Manchester, CT 06041.
