Edward L. Ricard, 71, of Ellington, beloved husband of Donna (Passardi) Ricard, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. He was born February 2, 1945 in Lowell, MA, son of the late Joseph and Noella (Moreau) Ricard. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 40. Edward was a lifetime member of the Italian Social Club; he enjoyed gardening-he took pride in his tomatoes, he loved riding to the casino, spending the winters in Florida, and fabricating windmills with his son. Besides his loving wife Donna, he is survived by his son Edward Joseph Ricard (Karen Munn) and his daughter Shannon Berry (Christopher). He also leaves his sister Jacqueline Martin, his nieces and nephews Julie Stewart (Randy), Frederick Arnold (Kitty), Michael Mathewson, and Lynn Mathewson, as well as his grand dogs Desi and Schrader, many friends, and extended family members. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville. A Funeral Home Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 12, 2016. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
