Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Lord Chamberlain surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 5, 1933, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Zevotek Cavanaugh. Before retirement, Joyce worked in the electrical assembly department at Sikorsky Aircraft. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Lord Chamberlain for the compassionate and loving care shown to Joyce and her family. Joyce is survived by her dedicated children, Gail Carroll and her husband John of West Haven, Laura Urban of Meriden, Richard W. Gillogly, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, cherished grandchildren, Alison Carroll, John “Jack” Carroll IV, Christopher Gillogly, Nicholas Gillogly, James Collins, Jr., great granddaughter Lily Gillogly, sister Beverly Page of Banta, CA, and several nephews. Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her daughter JoAnn Young and her sister Phyllis Munroe. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
