John Cirillo

John Joseph Cirillo, age 83, of East Haven passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Guilford. He was born on June 9, 1933 in New Haven to the late Pasquale and Carolina Mangino Cirillo. John proudly served in the US Airforce during the Korean Conflict. Before retiring, he was employed by the Milford Police Department as a custodian. An active member of the community, he was president of the Jolly Timers, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Senior Center in East Haven, served on the Board of Directors at St. Marks Church in Westbrook, CT and was a parishioner at St. Lawrence in West Haven. Mr. Cirillo is survived by his dedicated children Pasquale Joseph Cirillo and his wife Rosario of Moodus and John Michael Cirillo and his companion Carol of Mesa, AZ and Marianna Kuhn and her husband Bernard of Milford, his companion Marie Sidera, brothers Robert Cirillo and his wife JoAnn of Wallingford and Joseph Cirillo and his wife Frannie of FL, sisters Carol Boyan and her husband John and Theresa Goldberg all of Hamden, sisters-in-law Cynthia Cirillo of Westbrook and Sue Calise of East Haven, brother-in-law Robert Brechlin of Guilford, nine cherished grandchildren and 2 beloved great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Antoinette “Toni” Cirillo, brother Pasquale Cirillo and brother-in-law Harvey Goldberg. Calling hours are Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 12th at 11am in St. Lawrence Church in West Haven. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peters Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Epilepsy Foundation of CT, 386 Main St., Middletown, CT 06457.
