George Bradley

George David Bradley, USN Ret., age 79 of Clinton, CT and St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Milford, CT passed away in his Clinton home on May 2, 2016 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born in Bridgeport on August 18, 1936, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Rita Weihing Bradley. George was a veteran of the United States Navy, something he remained very proud of throughout his life. He owned and operated many automotive businesses in the Milford area during his working career and he was an avid boater for many years. Upon his semi-retirement to Florida he enjoyed immensely being a participant at the Wagon Wheel flea market in St. Pete. George is survived by his life companion Leona Mills whom he loved very much and daughters Denise Evarts (Fred) and Dawn Bradley and his brother Richard. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; Kyle, Sarah, and Dylan Evarts and Carissa Bradley. Other survivors are Deborah, Kelley, Clayton, Robert, and Douglas Mills (Janet) who he was very fond of and loved. George was predeceased by his parents and eldest daughter Deborah. The family would like to thank very much the CT Hospice Home Care organization and especially Mr. Edward Chin for the care and comfort they provided to George during his home care. Family and friends may call on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. during the visitation. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George’s name, and in honor of his daughter Deborah, may be made to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
