Irene Foote

Irene M. Foote, 91, wife of the late Erving E. Foote, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Miller Memorial after a brief illness. Born on May 16,1925, she was the daughter of the late August P. Miller Sr and Anna (Markowski) Miller and had attended Meriden High School. Mrs. Foote was employed by New Departure-Hyatt and Cuno Engineering, retiring from Cuno. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church and a member of the St. Elizabeth Society, VFW and Women of the Moose. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda J. Gelo and her partner Norman M. Wight; a son, Gary T. Foote and his wife Virginia; six grandchildren, Shannon Grad and her husband Jack, Stacey Juan and her husband Michael, Erin Gelo, Robert Foote and his wife Heather, Michael Foote and his wife Katie and Christopher Foote and his wife Susie; nine great-grandchildren, Adalee, Avery, Emily, Ciaran and William Foote, Jack Thomas and Caitlyn Grad, Devin Juan and Alexander Delgado. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-eight years, Erving E. Foote, a granddaughter, Courtney A. Gelo, and her eleven siblings. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 9:30 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 10 am at St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning prior to the service from 8:30 to 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Miller Memorial Community, 360 Broad Street, Meriden, CT 06450 or to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106. The family would like to thank Dr. Clifford Martell and APRN Molly Persinger for their excellent care. Also, the nursing and auxiliary staff and residents of Miller Memorial. She appreciated and loved every one of you.
