Barbara C. Spellacy, 81, wife of Michael J. Spellacy Jr., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Meriden on November 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Josephine (Modelski) Curtiss. She resided in Meriden her entire life and graduated from Meriden High School, Class of 1952. Mrs. Spellacy was employed in the local banking industry. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a devoted Catholic who loved her family above all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She and her husband organized many bus trips for St. Rose which always included a Mass. Many fun trips were taken by family and friends to the Irish Village, Cape Cod, MA. Besides her husband Michael of sixty-two years, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Willette and her husband Andrew of Meriden; two sons, Kevin Spellacy and his wife Rhonda of Berlin and Mark Spellacy of Meriden; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Jill and Daniel and his wife Kelly, Christopher Graham and his wife, Nicole, Justine Graham (Eric Sylvester); three great-grandchildren, Lane and twin girls Fiona and Rosalia Spellacy. She is also survived by a loving niece, Barbara Bajurny. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Edward Curtiss and a sister, Dorothy Salemi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Friday, August 26th from 4 to 7 pm. Her family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Comprehensive Dialysis on Pomeroy Avenue in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden, CT 06450
