Kimberly Meyer

Kimberly (Ward) Meyer, of Enfield, passed from her earthly journey at the age of 47, on Monday Aug. 8, 2016 unexpectedly in the comfort of her home. She was born on Nov. 13, 1968 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and LaRue (Bodnar) Ward and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Kimberly received her Bachelor’s Degree from UCONN in 1991, and was proudly pursuing her Master’s Degree. Kimberly was employed with CHR (Community Health Resources), as Program Director of Northfield for over 25 years. A home for those recovering from mental illnesses, where she touched the lives of hundreds of others, she was very dedicated to her clients, mentored the young staff and supported her colleagues (The Badgers). She loved her cats. Kimberly is survived by her brother, Brian Ward & husband Kevin Hunt of New York, her step-grandfather, Ronald Atkinson, her aunt, Yvonne Leicher & Neil Hasting, her uncle, James Ward & wife Jayne, several cousins and many friends. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Joseph Bodnar and Dorothy (Young) Bodnar Atkinson, and paternal grandparents, Malcolm and Ethel (Lindwall) Ward. Her family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111.
