Juanita McManus Obituary

Juanita Grace McManus’s life journey is now over and she went to be with her Savior, Our Lord Jesus Christ, on August 21, 2016 in Colorado Springs, CO. Juanita was born on July 19, 1923 to John and Anna Edwards in Cleveland, OH. Her family then settled in California, where Juanita would meet her future husband. Michael J. McManus and Juanita were married on August 21, 1949 in California. The couple moved to Oxford, CO, where they bought a ranch and then eventually opened an antique store, “Golden Eagle Antiques.” They ran the store together until Michael’s passing in 1993. During World War II Juanita worked in a war factory. She was a professional ice skater and dancer. She was a devout Catholic and loved to sing in her church choir. She had a beautiful soprano singing voice and even at an early age would sing for everyone. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family and all who knew her, loved her dearly and would refer to her as an angel on Earth. Juanita is survived by her family: Mike and Pam McManus, Patrick McManus, Mary and Duane Adair, Terrance and Cathy McManus, Kathleen McManus; her grandchildren: Breana, Erin, Chris, Alaura, Matt, Megan, Katie, Cassidy and Justin; her great grandchildren: Michael, Akayla and Regan; her brother, Newt Edwards and her brother-in-law, Pat McManus; as well as many nieces and nephews. Juanita will be laid to rest in eternal heaven next to her beloved husband of 67 years in Oxford Cemetery.
