Charles Lee “ Charlie” Brown Jr. passed away August 12, 2016 at his home, after being a 6 year cancer survivor. He was 75. Charlie was born October 26, 1940 to Charles Sr. and Ruth Brown in Wichita, Kansas. He attended school in Wichita and the University of Oklahoma. Next he became an Eagle Scout, and then later moved to Durango. He began working for Steve Osborn at Building Specialties, until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. While working at Building Specialties he met Anne Stevenson. In 2010 they were married. Charlie had many hobbies. He loved to build doll houses and miniature furniture; photography; reading; gardening; cooking, and traveling. His favorite hobby was building and collecting HO scale trains. Charlie was also known as the “Biggest Colorado Rockies fan!” He is survived by his wife Anne; son Greg(and Mechelle) of Queen Creek, AZ; daughters, Julie (and Desi) of Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer of Bowling Green, KY, grandson, Josh (and Amber) Hoy of Bowling Green, KY, sister, Sharon ( and Thom) Cox of Wichita, KS, and many nephews and extended family. A Celebration of the Life of Charlie will be held at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00pm. A potluck luncheon will follow. Wear Rockies attire and look for the balloons!
