Charlotte Siler Gardner, age 87, was born in Denver, Colorado on 12/23/1928. She passed away on 7/23/2016 peacefully surrounded by her family at Hopewest Hospice in Grand Junction, Colorado. The daughter of William & Nina Siler, she was the youngest of ten siblings. Raised mostly in Frasier and Denver, she graduated from Manual High School in 1946. Shortly afterwards, she met her husband Ezra Edward Gardner. After a number of years staying home and raising her family, she returned to work at and eventually retired from the Colorado Division of Wildlife. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ezra, siblings: Virgil (Bob) Siler, William Siler Jr, Howard Keltner, Levi Siler, Kelly Siler, Ula Keltner, Bessie Siler West, & Ardys Siler Dunn. She is survived by her brother, Douglas Siler, her other half in this world. His extraordinary personality gave her support and comfort till the end. She leaves her three children Pam, Carla, & Brett Gardner; her grandchildren Stacy Sandoval, Katana (Brandon) Beard, Adam (Chelle) Killian, and Cody Lopez; her great grandchildren Taylor & Ciara Sandoval, Kallyn & Dragan Beard, and John Patrick & Benjamin Killian. In addition, she leaves behind an abundance of extended family including loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Our mother’s embrace encircled and protected that which was most dear to her; her family. As a model matriarch, her love of life was lived through family. She carried the family in her arms to mountain holidays, family reunions, Sunday dinners, and “Grammy’s Weeks.” Sharing the joy of life at a dinner table and in conversation with family was the pinnacle of her delight. Her memory will live on in the experiences that she gave and shared.
