Deputy Erick J. Steinman, 44 of Highlands Ranch passed away June 23, 2015. Survived by his wife Jennifer; sons Kevan, Tristan, Andrew and Thomas. Mother Louise; siblings, Scott (Tammy) and Keith (Sandra). A memorial service will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 10:00 am, Faith Bible Family Worship Center, 62nd Ward Road (west side) Memorial donations may be given to any 1st Bank of Colorado in the name of Erick Steinman Memorial Fund. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the sudden passing this week of Deputy Erick Steinman. Deputy Steinman suffered a significant medical ailment in early May and had been recovering, but complications arose yesterday and he died. Deputy Steinman was a wonderful man, a devoted husband and father, and a beloved coworker who was known for his unmatched humor. He was known as a kind man who would always help anyone in need. He started his career at the Sheriff’s Office as a cadet in 1990 before becoming a deputy in 1991. He most recently served in the Patrol Division and had additional duties on the Honor Guard, as a firearms instructor, a crime scene technician, a crisis intervention team member and a SWAT negotiator. The Steinman family has deep roots and many friendships in the JCSO and this loss is profound.
