Andrew Christensen Obituary

Long- time resident Andrew "Andy" Jay Christensen, 61, of Sanford passed away Sunday morning surrounded by family and loved ones. Andy was born to Frank and Luella Christensen (of La Jara) on June 26, 1955. He graduated from Centauri High School in 1973. He was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full- time mission in San Antonio, Texas and faithfully fulfilled many callings. He married Jane Kreps on August 26, 1978 and is the father of five children. He worked at City Market (Alamosa) for 37 years where he had many friends that he considered family. Family and friends speak of his kindness and happy disposition. Andy loved the outdoors, woodworking, and model rockets. But the thing he loved most...his family. He was always there...for every event. Andy always went above and beyond what was expected. Andy is survived by his wife Jane, his children Keith (Debbie) Christensen, Melissa (Duffy) Otteson, Tyler (Amanda) Christensen, Tiffany Christensen, Paige (Ethan) Bentley, 13 grandchildren, his father, Frank (Shelly) Christensen, and his sister Dana (Bryan) Crawford. He is preceded in death by his mother Luella Hutchinson Christensen. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday July 28, 2016 at the Sanford Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Roger's Family Mortuary in Manassa and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at the Sanford LDS church. The family wishes to thank all those for the outreach of love and support during this time.
