Olen Dean Watkins, 86 of Hemet, California passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016. He was born on Tuesday, April 8, 1930 in Mena, Arkansas to James and Ura Watkins. Olen is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn "Kay" Watkins, two sons, Wayne and Michael, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Olen served proudly in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, then worked for Southern California Edison for 38 years. But work was not all there was to this hard working provider. He also served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in San Jacinto where he attended for 20 years, Olen loved to travel. He and his wife traveled all over the country in their trailer. He loved to collect things as well; knives, belt buckles, zippo lighters, and keys, among other things. Frequenting garage sales with his friends is where most of his collections came from. Olen also loved to work in his yard. He had a bit of a green thumb and loved to watch his garden grow. Above all else was Olen's love for his Lord, Jesus Christ, and for his family. He had a quiet, loving spirit which exhibited his kindness and care. Olen was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
