Linda Matthews Obituary

Linda Marie Matthews, 53, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 surrounded by loving family at her home in Aguanga, California. Linda was born on Wednesday, June 19, 1963 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to the late Donald and Dorothy Peters. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Troy Matthews, three children, James Ryan Matthews, Samantha Lynn Matthews, and Dylan Ray Matthews, one sister, Denise (Husband Raymond) Overstreet, and two nephews, Ian and Tristan Overstreet. Linda was a very loving and compassionate woman who cared for her family more than anything in the world. In addition to the immense love that she had for her family, Linda also touched the lives of many that came to know her as a friend. Her passion was childcare; from being a children's caregiver, to being involved with PTA and volunteering to assist with her children's athletic teams, Linda gave her all to everyone around her. Linda had a very creative spirit and enjoyed crafting, especially drawing and designing stationary using her treasured stamp collection. As she was growing up, horses were also among her favorite things in life. Ever the competitive athlete, Linda enjoyed many sports, including softball with her sister Denise. But most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family. Taking family trips to Lake Havasu, attending all of her children's sporting events, and snuggling up under a blanket with some popcorn on a rainy day to watch a movie with her family, were all among Her favorite pastimes. Linda was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Services will be held privately by the family.
