Jerome was born in Banning, California on May 17, 1979, he entered eternal life on May 20, 2016, he is survived by wife and mother of his children, Catherine, two daughters Kiana & Destiny, one son Jerome, one grandson Jax- four brothers and four sisters-in-law: Adrian & Adona, Daniel & Rhonda, Richard & Nicole, Frankie & Kailey- four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Janelle & Angel, Naomi & Andy, Lorena, Renee. Father & stepmother Jerome & Diane Salgado Sr., mother & stepfather Linda Themins-Howel & Jimmy Dean Howell, one grandmother Donna Robinson, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Occupation: Construction industry, Education: Jerome attended San Jacinto and Hemet West Valley High Schools; He later attended Noli Indian High School on the Soboba Indian Reservation where he graduated in 1997, receiving a scholarship for football at Haskell Univ. Kansas. He was one of the Noli students picked to attend UNITY - (United National Indian Tribal Youth) a National Conf. his senior year. Jerome began his football years in Banning with Jr All-American Pass Redskins football, then San Jacinto and Hemet West Valley High Schools, he also played 1 year semi-pro with the Valley Trojans out of San Fernando Valley.
Jerome was a Tribal-member of the Cahuilla Band of Indians; he served on various committees for the tribe. Jerome enjoyed spending time with his children, grandson and his family. His hobbies/interests were football, Dallas Cowboys, fishing, birdsinging, playing Peon, making native jewelry. He spent time with the elders learning about traditional ways of life, values, and songs and shared that with his family and others, he kept those lessons throughout his life, he had spent much of his free time teaching others how to make traditional rattles and native jewelry. Something his family and many others remember him by is that Jerome would go above and beyond to help others. Jerome we love you always.
