Mr. Leonard Person of Washington, DC, formerly of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 68. He was born March 16, 1948, in Tuckerman, the son of John and Thelma (Johnson) Person. Mr. Person was a 1966 graduate of East Side High School in Tuckerman. He moved to Washington, DC, where he owned a taxi service, retiring in 2013. Mr. Person loved to work on cars. He was a member of St. Paul’s AME in Tuckerman, Arkansas. Mr. Person was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Barnes and McKinley Person; one sister, Alice Person; and his parents. He is survived by one brother, Paul Person of Tuckerman, Arkansas; two sisters, Nancy Person Runion of Tuckerman, Arkansas, and Cordia Metcalf of Texarkana, Arkansas; his companion of over 20 years, Inger Mobley of Washington, DC; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Graveside service will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery, Tuckerman, Arkansas Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Freddy Nunn, Mantel Love, Gregory Love, Phil Love,Tracy Forte, and Ken Brown.
