A.J. Winchester, Jr., lovingly known as Buddy Jay and King Jay Majesty, departed from this life on October 13, 2016 at the home of his parents, at the age of 62. A.J. and Mary Sue Johnson Winchester brought Jay into this world of June 13, 1954. As a young child, Jay would often stand atop the well-house and preach “bringing in the sheets” to Rick and Sandra. As Jay grew, his love of the Lord grew. He adored attending church services, and often could be heard singing the loudest in the building. When Jay wasn’t in church, he could be found tracing pictures from a coloring book, doing circle a word puzzles, and cutting paper all the while singing hymns. King Jay Majesty found delight in meeting new people. Everyone he met instantly became a friend and was greeted with a hug, maybe a few if he thought you were pretty and smelled good. Jay will be missed by all who knew him. Jay was preceded in death by his father, A.J. Winchester, SR; as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Mary; an older sister, Linda Otwell and her husband, Bud, of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; a younger brothers, Richard of Bradford; and a younger sister, Sandra Turner and husband, Randy, of Bradford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Church of Christ. Friends may visit prior to services, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ron Otwell, Travis Otwell, William Winningham, Bill Burress, Scott Burress, and Jim Pollard. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Winningham and Leron Pollard.
