Oscar Lollis Obituary

Oscar Dean “O.D.” Lollis passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 in a local nursing home. He was born on December 20, 1929 in Kibler, Arkansas to Alvin “Doc” and Carrie (Hammonds) Lollis. He was both an Air Force and Army veteran and served in Germany. O.D. was an automobile salesman and manager for various dealerships and also owned Lollis Motor Company. He was in the Toyota Sales Society and received several sales awards. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Nolan and Luke, seven sisters, Ruth, Hazel, Ruby, Faye, Ima, Ann and Jean and his first cousin and best friend, David Bryant Lollis. He was a member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Bluff Avenue Baptist Church. Cremation and memorial service is under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Sue of the home, one son, Jim Lollis and his wife Teresa of Fayetteville, AR; one grandson, Christopher Dean Lollis of Fayetteville, AR; a foster son, F.J. Galyen of Rudy, Arkansas; a sister, Betty Roberson of Van Buren, AR; a brother in law and sister in law, Steve and Clara Slater of Fort Smith, AR; a sister in law, Sarah Griffith; four nephews, Steve Slater and his wife Debbie, Brandon Griffith, Rick Roberson and his wife Eva and Danny Roberson; and two nieces, Angela Oxford and her husband Lydell and Jan McKisson. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Monday, August 15th at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home, 4500 Jenny Lind Road, Fort Smith, AR. Memorials may be made to Bluff Avenue Church 2300 Bluff Ave. Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
