Nels Edwin Turnquist, Jr. passed away on Monday September 12, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born March 11, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa as the only child of Edwin Nels and Edna (Krabbenhoft) Turnquist. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, RuthAnn Turnquist. He is survived by two sons, Eric Turnquist and his wife Helen of Fort Smith, AR and Steven Turnquist and his wife Lynne of Fulton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kasey, Jamie, Andrew and Alex; his wife Rosie of the home and her four daughters. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 15, 2016 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with private family burial in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The Family will visit with friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
